Purpose
Plenty Credit exists to explain Australian credit in language a member of the old Plenty Community Credit Union would have recognised: careful, local, and unwilling to pretend a website knows your wage. Every guide is general information. None of it is personal advice under the Corporations Act.
Sources
We cite the documents readers can open themselves: MoneySmart, ASIC regulatory guides, the National Credit Code, AFCA rules, OAIC credit-reporting rights, and the credit reporting bodies’ own score explanations. Marketing pages are treated as claims, not as evidence.
Independence
We do not operate a lender panel. Rankings, if we ever publish a comparison, will say what was measured and who paid. Guest essays follow the write-for-us guidelines. Commercial outbound links use rel="sponsored".
Corrections
If a rate cap, hardship timeframe or credit-reporting rule changes, we update the article and the "Updated" date. Factual errors should be sent via the contact form. We do not quietly rewrite history to flatter a lender.
People in hardship
Guides about defaults, payday loans and BNPL are written on the assumption that a reader may already be in trouble. We point to hardship variations, AFCA and the National Debt Helpline (1800 007 007) before we point to any commercial product.
Voice
Australian English. No “unlock your financial freedom”. Teal and gold from the 2003–2010 co-operative site stay in the design; the slogans do not come back as product claims.
Images
Photographs are Creative Commons or public domain, self-hosted, and listed on the credits page. We do not scrape stock libraries that forbid reuse.
